Michael J. Hanus grew up in the Bayshore and was valedictorian of Keansburg High School, class of 1987. He graduated cum laude and Phi Betta Kappa from Rutgers University. Mr. Hanus went on to study at Seton Hall University School of Law graduating in 1995.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the Federal District Court of New Jersey since December of 1995. Mr. Hanus was a partner in a law firm in Woodbridge, New Jersey until August of 2016 when he made the decision to return home and open his own practice in Middletown, where he resides. Three years later, he merged his practice with his former partner, Kevin L. Parsons, to form Hanus & Parsons.
Mr. Hanus' practice is primarily focused in the area of personal injury of all sorts including wrongful death, construction site accidents, motor vehicle crashes. Mr. Hanus also handles workers’ compensation matters with a large portion of that practice dedicated to policemen and firemen, representing several hundred police and firemen personnel.

Mr. Parsons was born and raised in Ocean County. In 1998, he graduated with Honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. In 2001, Mr. Parsons received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law, where his academic distinction earned him a Faculty Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Prior to forming Hanus & Parsons with his partner, Michael J. Hanus, Mr. Parsons was a partner with a large personal injury law firm, where for almost two decades he represented injured individuals.
Mr. Parsons is admitted to practice law by the New Jersey Supreme Court, the United States Federal District Court, and the Vermont Supreme Court. He practices exclusively in the area of personal injury law, including construction site accidents, motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall accidents, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, and accidents arising from defective products. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Parsons was named by Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star.” Since 2014, he has been named a Super Lawyer**.
He is Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the Supreme Court of New Jersey due to his extensive experience as a trial attorney. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Vermont. He is a member of the Monmouth County Bar Association, the Ocean County Bar Association, and the Vermont Bar Association.
Mr. Parsons resides in Ocean County with his wife and two children. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, running, biking, and playing the guitar, and is an avid soccer supporter.

Mr. Levine was born and raised in New Jersey and has been a resident of Monmouth County for over 50 years. Mr. Levine graduated from Ocean Township High School in 1983 and from the University of South Florida in 1988. Mr. Levine received his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law in 1991.
Prior to joining Hanus and Parsons, Mr. Levine was a Deputy Attorney General defending the State of New Jersey, New Jersey Transit, and various State agencies against personal injury claims. Mr. Levine also worked for a large Monmouth County insurance defense firm. For the past 22 years Mr. Levine has focused his practice in the area of representing injured plaintiffs in auto accidents, slip and falls, wrongful death cases, dog bites , and construction accidents. Mr. Levine also has extensive experience representing injured petitioners in Workers Compensation matters throughout the State of New Jersey. Mr. Levine also represents both buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions, as well as, defending individuals accused of motor vehicle violations , DWI, and various offenses in local Municipal Courts. Mr. Levine has served on the Monmouth County Civil Practice Committee and for the past 20 years serves as an arbitrator in the Monmouth County Courthouse.
Mr. Levine is active in his community. He has served on the executive board of Howell Township Pop Warner; has volunteered and been a member of the Howell Township Optimist club. Mr. Levine currently serves as the Justice for, and is very involved in, the Lakewood Elks Club. Mr. Levine lives with his wife, and three daughters in Howell Township.
